Food production is essential to tackle global issues such as nutrition and food insecurity and to improve livelihoods of the world’s poor people. Education, information exchange and knowledge about the food system and about sustainable development in general, will play a central role in the transition towards global sustainability.
It has been over a year since the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the historic signing of the Paris Climate Agreement. Both of these events put forward a new agenda for development, and those who work in this field have been looking into the ways to navigate in this new context.
This status report summarises the integration of the 2030 Agenda into agronomy education programmes at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, SLU.
It is the final output of a project managed and conducted by five agronomy students within the university course "Project management & communication for agronomists" at SLU and was done in collaboration with SIANI.
