Ahead of the Nobel Week Dialogue on the Future of Food, we give you some practical tips of how to get the most out of the event whether you’ll be able to join in person or not.

The Nobel Week Dialogue is an event arranged by Nobel Media AB and the Nobel Center Foundation on the 9th of December 2016, ahead of the Nobel Prize Award ceremonies. This year, the topic is “Your Plate. Our Planet: The Future of Food”.

Topics will range from a micro to macro perspective: How will what I put on my plate affect my health? How is our planet affected by our choices? Can we ensure food and nutrition for all? How can food be produced, supplied and consumed more sustainably? Will food be different in the future? Can we continue to eat meat? How do you know what’s good for you? What does eating mean to you?

Not one of the lucky 1,300 people that got a ticket for the event? Here are some tips on how you can get involved digitally:

Many people, including the SIANI team, will be tweeting during the day. So, follow us on Twitter and follow the hashtag #nobeldialogue, and you can join the discussion there.

Also, the organizers will livestream the presentation and sessions, and you will be able to access the stream at the webpage of the Nobel Week Dialogue.

And most importantly, join the free & open pop-up dialogue one day ahead of the main event to listen to Nobel Laureates Elizabeth Blackburn and Muhammad Yunus, and other experts addressing the question: Is it possible to provide all people on the planet with food that is produced in a sustainable way?

The pop-up dialogue takes place between 13-15 on the 8th of December 2016 at Haymarket at Scandic, Hötorget 13-15, Stockholm.

Going to the event IRL but unsure how to prepare for it? Get informed and get engaged:

From Isabella Lövin, Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation and Climate, to rock artist Patty Smith to six (!) Nobel Laureates, the panels of the event are packed with big names. Make sure to have a look at their bios and pictures on the Nobel Week Dialogue web page so you know who to mingle with during coffee breaks!
