In this lecture Rosa Goodman will present a plan for how to turn this potential into reality. The lecture is part of Worth knowing Umeå. The lecture is live broadcasted and last around 30 minutes.
Many people have concluded that forests, especially in the tropics, can play a large role in climate change mitigation. Sustainable tropical forest management can protect forests from conversion and wood can be a renewable climate-positive building material.
Yet, no one has successfully turned this potential into reality. Here, Rosa Goodman lays out a plan for integration, transformation, and value-generation within the forest sector using the integrated forest-industry-market approach developed in Sweden.
Speaker is Rosa Goodman, Associate Senior Lecturer at the Department of Forest Ecology and Management, SLU.
The lecture is in English. It is live broadcasted at 12:10 on 21 October.
The lecture series Worth knowing Umeå is a collaboration between SLU’s environmental monitoring and assessment, the Faculty of Forest Sciences and the SLU University Library.
