Innovations & Incentives is the theme of this years’ conference. In a time with large infrastructural and policy changes in agriculture, rapid technological development as well as growing and volatile markets, we believe that this is a timely and highly relevant theme.
It encompasses innovative land use policies and market approaches as well as technological innovations at farm or village level. It also encompasses incentives for increased agricultural productivity at different scales; from farmers and local markets to countries and global trade. Some innovations and incentives may have unforeseen or even negative social and ecological consequences, and the issues may contain scientific and policy related controversies. We intend that the conference should be a forum for balanced and science-based discussions on ways forward, and on how multidisciplinary agricultural sciences can contribute to development.
The conference is organized by the networks Agri4D, SIANI, Focali, Future Agriculture, Future Forests and SLU Global.
