The SIANI secretariat is now in full swing of evaluating the past year of 2022, as well as planning content, dialogues and activities for 2023. We want to do this in collaboration with you – anchored in your interests, needs and passions.

SIANI in 2022
SIANI organised with partners associated events to the Stockholm +50 conference, Almedalsveckan in Visby, the World Food Forum as well as independent events around topics such as sustainable food systems, youth, Indigenous Peoples’ livelihoods, land rights, smallholder farmers and the launch of the IFAD Rural Development Report. SIANI also increased its online presence by sharing and expanding the reach of news, events and opportunities in our network. New and strengthened partnerships were established with Agroforestry Network, IFAD and the CGIAR Research Program on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry. SIANI organised three members’ meetings in March 2022 to consolidate the objectives of the new programme phase focused on food systems.

SIANI will move into its fourth phase in 2023, and will work towards contributing to more sustainable, rights-based and inclusive food systems. SIANI will primarily work towards the recognition of rural youth, smallholders’ and SMEs’ prosperity in value chains in local production systems and livelihoods and rights of forest communities, Indigenous peoples and natural resource-dependent poor.
