InfoPoint Hybrid Conference ⎮ Land governance to protect traditional knowledge and conserve biodiversity

The InfoPoint conference will focus on the crucial opportunity presented by COP-16 and the recognition of the contribution of Indigenous Peoples and local communities to the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF). The GBF recognizes IPs and LCs as crucial partners in conservation and language across several GBF targets includes respect of their rights, also to land, territories and natural resources. The conference will showcase IP and LC contributions to the GBF and underline their centrality to its achievement.

 

The conference will provide concrete guidance to EC divisions on how to approach these topics in multilateral spaces and national interventions, it will include the sharing of available resources as well as concrete examples of local-led conservation of biodiversity in communities.
