Conference: Geopolitics of Sustainability

The Geopolitics of Sustainability conference* will explore strategies to address increasingly urgent and complex sustainability challenges more effectively alongside rising geopolitical insecurity. The conference is organised by Mistra Geopolitics and will also examine ways to leverage opportunities created by innovation and technological advancements.

Mistra will host distinguished national and international thought leaders and academics and the day will include discussions on the following thematic areas:

  • Decarbonization dilemmas: global winners, losers, and resource realities
  • Towards a food secure world: transboundary climate risks and weaponization of food
  • How geopolitical dynamics shape the prospects for sustainable and secure oceans
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a power shifter in sustainable development
  • Sustainable visions for the future: promising avenues and ways forward

Opening remarks will be given by Nick Mabey, founding Director and co-CEO of E3G, a leading independent climate change think tank.

*The conference is an invitation-only event and is held in person. But you can register your interest by filling in the registration form. Please note that due to limited seating availability, registration of interest does not guarantee a seat.  The organizing team will notify you about availability.
