LARRI Webinar – Articulating Alienation. The History and Experience of Subsumption in Rural Kigoma, Tanzania

The forthcoming LARRI (Land Rights Research Initiative) webinar will feature Dr Karolina Wallin Fernqvist, postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Urban and Rural Development at SLU, Uppsala, discussing her research into the terms of incorporation of rural Tanzanian people into the wider global economy. The concept of alienation is at the centre of her analysis which looks not only at people’s relation to land, but also to each other. Mats Widgren, Professor Emeritus in Human Geography at the University of Stockholm will be the discussant before plenary questions and discussion.
