The disconnect between local leaders and formal land actors in Rwanda has led to a rise in informal land transactions. Using modern tools, adapted to the local context, we linked all actors involved in the land transaction process. Moving from informal to formal transactions protects vulnerable individuals, minimizes land-related conflicts, and ensures sustainable use of land.
Join representatives from Lantmäteriet, the Rwanda Land Management and Use Authority, and Cadasta Foundation as they share experience from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency-funded Advanced International Training Programme for Applied Land Governance. The discussion will focus on how the training is being applied to improve efficiency and equity in land and resource rights of women and marginalized communities, in Rwanda and in the region.
