The general objective is to improve health and the living conditions of the families settled in peri-urban areas of El Alto city, through the provision of ecological toilets with a sustainable and productive approach. The water supply of El Alto and La Paz depends on deep wells and glaciers (snowy-mountains). Recently, scientists have measured and people have noticed the progressive melting of the glaciers and a reduction of water supply services during weekends in El Alto. Therefore, the rational use of water promoted by the project is also an adaptation measure to face the challenges provoked by rising temperatures and the climate change
