Your participation is welcomed at an open event to celebrate World Bee Day 2023.
On this occasion, a hybrid celebration will be held at FAO headquarters, in the Sheikh Zayed Centre. The observance of World Bee Day is a call for global cooperation and solidarity to ensure that we address threats posed to food security and agricultural livelihoods, environmental degradation and to protect bee and pollinator populations and their habitat. It is also an occasion to raise awareness of how everyone can make a difference by supporting, restoring and enhancing the role of bees and other pollinators.
The overall objective of World Bee Day 2023 is to focus attention on the contribution of beekeepers, the role bees and other pollinators play in increasing food security, improving livelihoods, providing key ecosystem services for agriculture, and what Members, food systems actors and the general public can do to protect bees and pollinators.
