On 16 October, World Food Day, SIANI will present 12 examples of innovative food solutions at the event The Food Shift, Matskiftet, in Stockholm. Join us on site for an inspiring evening or stayed tuned for updates. The activity is a collaboration with the NGOs The Hunger Project, Reformaten and Momentum Fryshuset to showcase how small actions can have a big impact and help transform the global food system.
The event Matskiftet is held in Swedish but demonstrates how young people around the world work to end hunger and inequality. Register here to take part – we meet at Husby Gård, Stockholm, between 17 and 20. It will be an inspiring evening with food, panel discussions and an interactive art exhibition. SIANI, The Hunger Project and Reformaten will share insights on the global fight against hunger and representatives from the Swedish political parties’ youth organisations will talk about which actions they would like to see.
The publication Matskiftet – 12 idéer (The Food Shift – 12 ideas) will initially be published in Swedish, but SIANI will report back from the event in English so that insights can be shared with a broader audience. Several of the ideas promoted are related to SIANI’s work, for example circular approaches in farming, renewed interest in wild foods from forests and initiatives like markets for edible insects as a way to diversify diets and generate incomes.
