The UN Biodiversity conference will consist of two parts. Part 1 will take place virtually (11-15 October) and part 2 will take place in Montreal, Canada (7-12 December). The conference will ratify the post-2020 global biodiversity framework that will work to halt global biodiversity loss and protect, restore and manage biodiversity and ecosystems the coming decade. The aim of the framework is to reach the Aichi Biodiversity Targets and recognize the urgent need to curb the trends that has led to global biodiversity loss and stabilize it by 2030 and reach net improvements of recovered natural ecosystems by 2050.
