The Minor Use Foundation (MUF) is planning a prioritization process leading up to the 2025 Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues (CCPR) meeting in May 2025. The goal is to have a list of global needs to research and conduct merit analysis by March 18, 2025, to be able to validate and announce the priorities that will drive the work agenda for the next three years at a Foundation workshop following the completion of the 2025 CCPR meeting.
Leading up to the CCPR meeting, MUF needs to hear from growers, researchers, and governments about your most pressing and challenging pest and disease burdens for speciality crops, so they can partner with you to address them.
Participants will go through a process of nominating needs from a list of more than 3,500 crop/pest combinations and submitting new needs to develop a targeted list to further refine. Participants will then rank their top priorities based on the nominated needs. The Minor Use Foundation will facilitate the data collection process and integrate the inputs of participants then conduct merit analysis on the top priorities.
MUF will hold two regional inception workshops to kick off the priority setting process:
- Asia/Africa/Europe/Oceania Regional Priority Setting Inception Workshop
Date and time: January 7, 2025, 07:30 AM CET. - Americas Regional Priority Setting Inception Workshop
Date and time: January 9, 2025, 06:00 PM CET.
The overall goal is to develop a list of top pest management priorities around the globe. There is no charge for registration or participating in the priority setting process.
