2015 is an important year; soon the representatives from the UN´s member states will meet in New York and take a decision on a new Universal Development Agenda. This agenda is defined by 17 goals and 164 targets. It is very encouraging is that food security, improved nutrition and sustainable agriculture is prioritized. Several other goals related to capacity development, consumption and production and management of natural resources link up to the food security goal. After the important SDG summit in New York the member states are getting prepared for the Climate negotiations in Paris to hopefully decide on a climate deal as a step to achieve the SDG-targets with minimal climate impact. SIANI follows the SDG process and will open up a space for a discussion which will be decided on in March 2016. As in previous years SIANI will participate in the conversations around Landscapes at the Climate summit.
